Last Saturday, Tom and his friends decided to go to the mountains. They packed their backpacks early in the morning. They took plenty of water, sandwiches, and a map.
The weather was perfect for hiking. The sun was shining and the sky was bright blue. Everyone was in a good mood when they started their walk.
After an hour of walking, they reached a beautiful forest. The air was fresh and smelled like pine trees. They could hear birds singing high in the trees.
Suddenly, one of the girls, Anna, stopped. “Look at these flowers!” she shouted. They were purple and yellow, and they grew all around the path.
They took a short break near a small stream. The water in the stream was very cold and clear. Tom washed his face to feel refreshed.
The next part of the road was a bit harder. The path became steep and there were many rocks. “You must watch your step,” Tom said to his friends.
Finally, they reached the top of the mountain. The view was amazing. They could see the whole valley and small villages in the distance.
They ate their sandwiches while enjoying the landscape. “It was worth the effort,” Anna said with a smile.
They started walking down before it got dark. They were tired, but very happy. It was a wonderful day spent in the fresh air.
